Gerry Point came across this handsome male while gathering maple sap this evening.
Hello everyone,
Danielle and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who made it out this past weekend to the Species at Risk Open House. It was great to see many familiar faces. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and learned a few things, whether it is about local SAR, SAR and farming or bats and White-nose Syndrome.
Being our first ever SAR Open House we are looking for comments and feedback from those who attended. If there were aspects you liked, some you didn't or even suggestions for future sessions please feel free to let us know. For those who did not have the chance to attend, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or are looking for any information on species at risk.ase feel free to let us know. We really want to make this a regular part of our program and address the needs of those in the district and those who are impacted by species at risk.
If anyone has comments please call or send them to Danielle Loranger (I will be out of the office starting February 17.) You can reach Danielle from now until March 6,2012 at 705-475-5515 or at Danielle.Loranger@ontera.ca
Again, thank you all for your participation. Valerie and Danielle

I presented to your group in late September on local species at risk. I just wanted to let your group know that I will now be holding an information session / open house for all who are interested in February 2012. The session will focus on farmers, private land owners and those who use the land (such as anglers and hunters and naturalists). If your group or anyone you know would like to attend this session please pass on the information.
As of right now I have secured tables or speakers for:

-Sciensational Snakes
-MNR - Bats and White Nose Syndrome
-Stewardship opportunities and Farm Incentive Program
-Bryan Gilvesy – AlternativeLand Use Services
-Bear Wise Program
-Conservation Officers
Thanks for your time. As soon as I sort out a few more logistical items I will forward more information as to dates, times and locations.
